This is when she is roughly 17-18 and after she attempts to learn the snake sage mode (Which she has only used once in battle )

At this point in the series she is more comfortable with being her own person and tires to be funny. She isn't as "cold hearted" by this time and is about to get her own genin team

She became a jonin when as turned 15 but left soon after on her journey to get snake sage mode and find more out about her clan.
